Rules
Cajun Stud deals two hole cards to each player after an ante, exactly as in Mississippi Stud (also in this library). Three community-style cards are then revealed one at a time, with a betting decision (1x to 3x, or fold) after each reveal.
As in Mississippi Stud, there's no dealer hand to beat β each player's final five-card hand (two hole cards plus the three revealed community cards) is paid according to a fixed house paytable, typically starting at a pair of jacks or better.
Cajun Stud adds optional side bets not found in standard Mississippi Stud, commonly including a "Lo Ball" bet (paying on low, unpaired hands), a "Board Bonus" bet (paying based on the community cards alone, regardless of the player's hole cards), and a "Pocket Bonus" bet (paying based on the player's two hole cards alone).
Strategy notes: The core betting strategy is identical to Mississippi Stud β bet more aggressively as later community cards improve realistic hand potential β but the added side bets give players additional, largely independent ways to wager on specific outcomes each hand.
Common house rules
Essentially Mississippi Stud with extra side bets
The core Ante/community-reveal/paytable structure is the same as Mississippi Stud (also in this library) β the Lo Ball, Board Bonus, and Pocket Bonus side bets are what distinguish this specific game.
Side bets are independent of the main hand
Each side bet is settled based on its own specific condition (low unpaired hand, community cards alone, or hole cards alone) β none of them require beating a dealer hand or affect the main Ante/Play bet outcome.
Confirm which side bets are offered
Not every table or casino offers all three side bets β confirm which are available before dealing, since the mix affects overall strategy.
